I grew up in Simsbury Connecticut and I currently live in High Point, North Carolina and work in Winston-Salem North Carolina at Reynolds American where I serve as the lead talent development manager.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">I manage the early career programs including our internship and Global graduate program. So I&#039;m responsible for around 200 students throughout the year and get to be involved in their development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">I&#039;m so excited to have High Point University students in my internship programs that I manage and it&#039;s always really exciting to see how they grow every single year.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">2<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">Why do HPU students stand out in the corporate world?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TBZeFlKRtKI&amp;t=43\">0:43<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">High Point University students really stand out because they have an executive presence and they&#039;re really comfortable in these situations of again how to ask those tough questions how to show up and navigate ambiguity which is something that we see is really challenging for students.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">High Point University does an excellent job at preparing students for that and it definitely shows when they actually get into Corporate America.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">3<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">How do HPU faculty mentors shape student career paths?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=TBZeFlKRtKI&amp;t=64\">1:04<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">During my time as a student at High Point University Dr. David Bergen he was my College advisor and I wasn&#039;t really sure what I wanted to major in.
