I am from Ramseur, North Carolina. I graduated from High Point University in 2025 with a bachelor&#039;s of science and nursing and I currently work for Cone Health in their emergency department as a registered nurse.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">2<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">Where do High Point University nursing graduates work?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bAxoPO2aprw&amp;t=11\">0:11<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">I first found out about High Point University when I was in the sixth grade. Uh my sisters and I all played soccer and we started going to um summer soccer camps here. And I remember the first time I came to camp, I immediately fell in love with the university. It was just beautiful and breathtaking and through hard work in high school and then my loving parents, I was able to come to my dream school.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">So I&#039;ve always known I wanted to work in healthcare from a very young age. Um I helped take care of my great-grandmother who lived to be 100 years old. And so um I just love the patient care aspect and helping other people that are in need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">My mother&#039;s also a nurse, so she&#039;s been a great role model for me, exemplifying what it is to give back to others and help others that are in need.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">Nursing at HPU is just so great. I loved all of my professors and my class was so close.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">3<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">What is mentorship like at High Point University?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bAxoPO2aprw&amp;t=72\">1:12<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">Mentorship here at High Point University is very easily accessible. Each one of them would have their office hours just open and accessible. And my professors not only taught us the stuff that we need to know from a textbook and to pass our boards and to be a nurse, but they also cared about us personally and wanted us to succeed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">It was just a great experience and I would do it all over again if I could.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">4<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">How can students succeed at High Point University?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bAxoPO2aprw&amp;t=95\">1:35<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">Some tips that I would give to be successful here at HPU is just to step out of your comfort zone and not be afraid. Be who you are and do all the many activities that you can.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">I got to go to mental health nursing, community health nursing, and pediatric rotations. We also got to travel to Samaritan&#039;s Purse and the North Carolina Board of Nursing, which is a great place to see as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">I was also a part of the club soccer team here at High Point University, and also engaging myself with all the many resources that this university has to offer.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header\" role=\"button\" aria-expanded=\"true\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-header-top\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-number\">5<\/div>\n<h2 class=\"hpu-video-transcript-speaker\">What are the core values of High Point University?<\/h2>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-container\">\n<div class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text-inner\">\n                                    <span class=\"hpu-video-transcript-chapter-time\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=bAxoPO2aprw&amp;t=128\">2:08<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"hpu-video-transcript-text\">There are many things that come to mind that have shaped me and made me who I am today. And it was so nice to come onto a campus that had those values in place. So I've always known I wanted to work in healthcare from a very young age. Um I helped take care of my great-grandmother who lived to be 100 years old. And so um I just love the patient care aspect and helping other people that are in need. My mother's also a nurse, so she's been a great role model for me, exemplifying what it is to give back to others and help others that are in need. Nursing at HPU is just so great. I loved all of my professors and my class was so close. Mentorship here at High Point University is very easily accessible. Each one of them would have their office hours just open and accessible. And my professors not only taught us the stuff that we need to know from a textbook and to pass our boards and to be a nurse, but they also cared about us personally and wanted us to succeed. It was just a great experience and I would do it all over again if I could. Some tips that I would give to be successful here at HPU is just to step out of your comfort zone and not be afraid. Be who you are and do all the many activities that you can. I got to go to mental health nursing, community health nursing, and pediatric rotations. We also got to travel to Samaritan's Purse and the North Carolina Board of Nursing, which is a great place to see as well. I was also a part of the club soccer team here at High Point University, and also engaging myself with all the many resources that this university has to offer. There are many things that come to mind that have shaped me and made me who I am today. the life skills that this university instills in us. And this is a God, family, and country school. And all those values mean everything to me. And it was so nice to come onto a campus that had those values in place. And you can feel that when you come here on this campus. HPU's call to action of choosing to be extraordinary means to me being the best version of yourself that you can possibly be and setting those goals for yourself so you can complete them and just do all that you can to be the best version of yourself.
