HIGH POINT, N.C., July 10, 2017 – High Point University welcomed 10 new staff members during the month of June. They are as follows:
Rev. Mary Beth Foust joined the Service Learning Program as assistant director of civic responsibility and social innovation. This is a newly created position. Foust has a number of responsibilities in this position, including working as the HPU Americorps VISTA supervisor, coordinating the Bonner Leader Program and assisting with the development of HPU’s new civic responsibility and social innovation minor. She has been working part-time as the Bonner Leader coordinator for the past year and says it’s a privilege to watch students serve the High Point community with commitment and passion. Foust hopes her work at HPU will help students become civically responsible citizens for the rest of their lives. She has a bachelor’s degree in religion and a Master of Divinity, as well as a certificate in grant writing and management.
Rev. Andria Williamson joined the Chapel and Religious Life Office as manager of chapel programs. Williamson assists in planning, coordinating and overseeing chapel operations, which include weekly Christian chapel services and other interfaith and multi-religious events. She also advises the Board of Stewards and plans fall and spring pilgrimages, ensuring vibrant religious and spiritual life at HPU. A native of Summerfield, Williamson has served churches, schools, universities and non-profit organizations in the Triad for more than 15 years as an ordained minister, trained musician, educator and academic counselor. She has bachelor’s degrees in music education and communication studies, as well as a Master of Divinity.
Dr. Mary-Jeanne “MJ” Raleigh joined the Office of Student Life as executive director of counseling services. This is a newly created position. She is responsible for overseeing all operations for Counseling Services, including staff supervision, policy and procedure development and financial operations. She plans to make quality care available to HPU students by expanding the number of services available to them. Raleigh has worked in college mental health for more than 30 years, is a past-president of the American College Counseling Association and is a nationally certified licensed professional counselor. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, master’s degrees in Irish literature and counseling education, and a Ph.D. in environmental studies. She is a member of the Governing Council for the American Counseling Association and a representative on the Council for the Advancement of Standards in High Education.
Jordan Gregory joined the Office of Student Life as a resident director. This is a newly created position. Gregory is responsible for overseeing Founders Street, HPU’s new residence hall, and will supervise its staff of resident advisors. Her goal is to challenge students to think beyond their individual needs and envision themselves impacting their community. Gregory previously worked as a success counselor and as a facility director for a sorority. She has a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a master’s degree in student affairs counseling.
Elizabeth Hinson joined the Office of Student Life as a resident director. She oversees and supports the student staff and residents in the women’s complex of McEwen, Wesley, North and Yadkin residence halls. She hopes to facilitate a strong sense of community within the complex and help empower students to explore their interests at HPU. Hinson worked in student programming while earning her bachelor’s degree and worked in a substance abuse prevention center as a graduate student. She has a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science and a master’s degree in higher education.
Daniel Allen joined the Student Success Program as a student success coach. This is a newly created position. He will help advise and guide incoming HPU freshmen through their first year on campus by providing academic advising, personal encouragement and assistance connecting with resources on campus. He hopes to help HPU students by supporting their efforts and guiding them through their time at the university. Allen has prior experience in both residence life and student affairs. He has bachelor’s degrees in history and social sciences education, as well as a master’s degree in college student personnel.
Karen Geiger joined the Student Success Program as a student success coach. This is a newly created position. As a success coach, Geiger will provide academic and transitional support to incoming HPU freshmen. She hopes to help students find their connection to HPU while providing them with the resources and support they need to be successful. Geiger has worked in higher education for more than 10 years and has previous experience working in student life, student activities, assessment and accreditation, and academic advising. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in education with a concentration in leadership for higher education.
Isabel Drinkwater joined the Student Success Program as a student success coach. Drinkwater will help provide academic, personal, social and career support to students as they transition to college. She hopes that students will look up to her as a mentor and someone they can count on to support them throughout their time at HPU. Drinkwater has previous experience with teaching and career counseling in higher education. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in college student development.
Analee Henley joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor. She assists prospective students throughout the admissions process while forming connections with them and helping them find a home at HPU. Previously, Henley was an engineer recruiter at Aerotek, where she screened candidates and helped place employees in job openings. She has a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a focus in finance.
Ryan Dillon joined the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as an admissions counselor. He works with prospective students, introducing them to the many different academic programs and opportunities available at HPU and supporting them throughout the admissions process. An HPU alumnus, Dillon toured as a professional actor and worked as a radio promotional assistant. Most recently, he was a recruiter for IT staffing company TEKsystems. He has a bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus in television and radio.
