As part of her new role, Cooke is responsible for teaching introduction to environmental science, one of the core courses for the new environmental studies minor. She also plans to involve her students in aquatic ecology research.
“I hope that my teaching will help students understand and appreciate how critical environmental issues are to our society,” says Cooke. “I hope the concepts they learn in my course will contribute to the students’ growth into thoughtful and aware global citizens.”
Cooke obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, and earned a doctorate from Lehigh University.
