Instrumental Ensembles Winter Concert to be Hosted at HPU

High Point University ConcertHIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 19, 2012 – High Point University will host an exciting evening of music at the annual Instrumental Ensembles Winter Concert, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The event is open to the public. No tickets are required.

The concert will feature an arrangement of seasonal and holiday music that will highlight many of the HPU instrumental ensembles, including the Brass Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Flute Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and the University Band.

Dr. Danny Frye, director of instrumental studies, says a variety of music will be played, ranging from traditional Christmas carols to Mannheim Steamroller favorites.

Frye also notes, “Percussion Ensemble compositions written by HPU student Joseph Kilar and HPU faculty member Dr. Nathan Daughtrey will make their world premiere during the concert.”
