HPU Hosts NC Governor and Hundreds of Education Leaders for Campus Compact

HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 10, 2016 – Nearly 400 college and university leaders from across the state came to High Point University Feb. 9-10 for several North Carolina Campus Compact conferences.

Today, HPU was honored to host North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory for a President’s Forum. In an interview led by Dr. Nido Qubein, HPU president, McCrory discussed with presidents from these private and public universities the bright future of North Carolina and the crucial role higher education plays in it.

For the last year, Qubein has served as the Chair of the Board of North Carolina Campus Compact, of which HPU was a founding member. This organization seeks to build the capacity of “colleges and universities to produce civically-engaged graduates and strengthen communities.”
