Student Secures Internship At Lockheed Martin

HIGH POINT, N.C., July 14, 2011 – Jacquelyn Reilly, a rising senior majoring in graphic design with minors in psychology and communication at High Point University, is receiving incredible career experience from her summer internship at Lockheed Martin – one of the world’s largest defense contractors specializing in global aerospace, defense, security and advanced technology with worldwide interests.

Reilly works in an internship designed to introduce her to the Lockheed Martin Corporation, demonstrate some the programs that they support, and help her visualize a career with the company. During her time there, she has attended meetings, contributed ideas, and already executed important company projects – including designing a billboard for Lockheed Martin’s Media Services, designing the employee calendar, and creating a digital poster that is displayed in the halls of the company.

“It’s amazing that I have the opportunity to have an effect on such a massive company,” says Reilly says.

Reilly says her classes at HPU have taught her how to professionally execute a design that will attract a consumer. She also says the innovative technology and resources available at HPU have provided her the preparation to dive into a project without instruction.

“I couldn’t ask for a better experience, and I know I would not have obtained this opportunity without High Point University’s unbeatable resources, stellar reputation and incredible preparation,” Reilly says.
