“High Point University is committed to creating a nurturing relationship with all residents. The Office of Student Life strives to enhance both academic achievements as well as the personal growth and development of all university students. We want to facilitate the acquisition and development of life skills as well as servant leadership. Our responsibility is to help prepare students with the knowledge of how to live with their fullest potential in mind.” Gail C. Tuttle, Senior Vice President for Student Life.
As a member of our university community, we want you to know that we are committed to making your residential experience the best it can be. Please know that we take pride in your surroundings as well as your satisfaction and comfort. When you are in need of assistance, please alert our office immediately.
At High Point University, we are committed to our student’s success, both in and out of the classroom. It is a time for a life journey that is full of promise and opportunities. College is a time of intellectual pursuit and development and a time for personal development and growth. For all HPU students, there are times that the journey can be enhanced by the support from others and personal discovery that is necessary. Care Alert is a mechanism that community members may utilize to help someone who is in need. This program is offered through the Office of Student Life and the Counseling Center. The HPU Counseling Center provides individual support and guidance to students who may be struggling with the college experience or other life challenges.
Referrals from staff/faculty, family members, peers and students themselves may be done via telephone, email, or in person. Referrals to Care Alert may be kept anonymous. If you would prefer to email your notice, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. However, if this is a personal emergency or someone is in need of immediate assistance, please call 911 or 336-841-9111.
