In keeping with High Point University’s historical commitment to the liberal arts, students are required to complete general education requirements. University core courses come from the following subject areas:
• Written Communication Skills
• Language Skills
• Quantitative Reasoning
• Ethical Reasoning
• First-Year Seminar
• President’s Seminar/Health and Wellness Colloquia
• Physical Education Course Activity
Additionally, students choose electives from the Humanities and Arts as well as from the Natural and Social Sciences. Because of the breadth of choices within the General Education requirements, students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of disciplines and interact with a diverse faculty before committing to a major.
