HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 28, 2009 – Joshua Jones, a senior majoring in accounting at High Point University, is getting valuable career experience, thanks to a hands-on internship at Bernard Robinson and Co., L.L.P., a public accounting firm in Greensboro.
Jones says he has been busy since day one, working on client engagements that vary from audit and writing of financial statements to the preparation and processing of tax paperwork.
“This is an excellent opportunity for me to experience what life as a public accountant is like,” Jones says. “Unlike some internships where you are more of an observer, accounting internships are hands-on. The pace is very fast and the workload is intense during the busy season. … I am applying ? in the real world ? what I’ve learned over the past three years of classes. This great opportunity is preparing me for what the business world will bring once I leave school.”
