HIGH POINT, N.C., June 17, 2009 – Cassidy Cloyed, a rising senior majoring in business management and human relations at High Point University, is hard at work in Asheville this summer thanks to her internship with the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce as a member services intern.
Cloyed is spending her time working in the Membership Department with event coordinator Laura Wolf.
While she has just begun her internship, she has already helped with the annual Chamber Challenge 5K Run, and has also attended a few business after-hours events – a networking benefit of being a Chamber member. She is also hard at work helping with the Annual Meeting and golf tournament, which is held at the Grove Park Inn.
“Having this internship has already given me a different light on Asheville and presented me with new opportunities,” Cloyed says.
She has even made a connection at a networking meeting that will help her with a project she is working on for her HPU sorority.
“I have really enjoyed seeing the benefits of networking,” Cloyed says. “Laura is also working on setting up the opportunity for me to shadow different event coordinators who are members ? which will help me to make a better decision as to what kind (of event coordinator) I would like to be.”
