HPU To Welcome Community To Eastern Music Festival Concert

HIGH POINT, N.C., June 23, 2009 – High Point University will host an array of spectacular music thanks to the Eastern Music Festival, which will be making a stop at the university at 7:30 p.m. on July 13 in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.

The program will consist of a wide variety of sounds, with styles ranging from well-known tunes performed by a sensational brass quintet to brilliant piano arrangements. The concert will be directed by Maestro Gerald Schwarz of the Seattle Symphony, who will showcase notable faculty and accomplished students throughout the festival.

Now in its 48th year, the Eastern Music Festival & School is recognized for its contributions to the field of American music and its commitment to nurturing talented American and international youth through a collaborative learning process. The program brings together a cross-section of America’s most sought after artists with pre-professional students.

The concert is part of HPU’s cultural enrichment series, which features nationally recognized speakers and performers for the benefit of the university and the community.
