HIGH POINT, N.C., July 24, 2009 – High Point University’s Evening Degree Program is adding Japanese to its list of fall 2009 course offerings.
Introductory levels (101 and 102) of Chinese, French and Spanish will be offered at the High Point campus during the fall terms. Japanese and Spanish introductory levels will be offered at the Budd Family Campus in Winston-Salem during the same dates.
Language level 101 for each course will meet Aug. 25 through Oct. 15, and language level 102 will meet Oct. 27 through Dec. 17. Classes will meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
“Our adult students can now choose from among Japanese, Chinese, French and Spanish,” says Tracy Collum, associate dean of the Evening Degree Program at HPU. “The Evening Degree Program has several students who enroll specifically in foreign language classes to increase their versatility at work or their own personal knowledge base.”
Pre-registration for new or non-degree-seeking students will run from July 30 to Aug. 21 for the 101-level courses. Non-degree-seeking students may opt to audit a course.
The Budd Family Campus is located at 6000 Museum Drive, Winston-Salem, off of U.S. 52 and University Parkway.
High Point’s Evening Degree Program has offered a comprehensive program for working adults since 1978 and is the oldest program of its kind in the Piedmont Triad.
