HIGH POINT, N.C., July 17, 2009 – High Point University is one of just five schools in North Carolina to be included in the “Great Colleges to Work For” 2009 listings, published in The Chronicle of Higher Education. The results were announced on the publication’s Web site and in the July 10 print issue.
ModernThink, LLC, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administered the survey. The survey included a two-part assessment process – a survey administered to faculty, administrators and professional-support staff, and an institutional audit that captured demographics and workplace policies and practices from each institution. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback collected from the faculty and staff.
“It is certainly an honor to be included in this list,” says Chris Dudley, vice president for administration at HPU. “The more than 470 faculty and staff members who work here know how special High Point University is, and that in turn produces a positive working environment. HPU is going through a dynamic transformation, and our family of employees rises to the occasion every day.”
Other North Carolina schools on the list include the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University.
