HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 21, 2009 – The High Point University campus is buzzing this weekend, thanks to a convergence of students and their families, as well as faculty and staff members who are all busy making the Freshman Orientation and Move-In a success.
Students will be settling into their new surroundings today through Sunday. They’ll also be treated to informative and entertaining events throughout the weekend, such as a hypnotist, a “Barefoot Luau,” the Opening Convocation, dinner and live entertainment, a Religious Life Expo and more. Students will also participate in a special session on Sunday, when they’ll attend “Academics and Honesty: The High Point University Honor Code Initiation,” including the signing of the Honor Code.
On Saturday, HPU’s Opening Convocation will celebrate the beginning of a new academic year, and will welcome more than 1,000 incoming freshmen to the HPU family – the largest freshman class in school history.
