HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 1, 2009 – High Point University will host two art exhibitions at the Sechrest Art Gallery in the Hayworth Fine Arts Center on the HPU campus – the “Faculty Show” and the “Catherine Murray Exhibition.”
The “Faculty Show,” to be held from Sept. 8 through Oct. 17, is a biannual show presented by the Visual Arts Department of HPU. The exhibit showcases the best work of the university’s faculty artists.
The “Catherine Murray Exhibition,” to be held Nov. 3 through Dec. 15, is a show of sculpture by Catherine Murray of Jonesborough, Tenn. Murray’s work is based thematically upon “Endangered Species.” It contains mixed media sculptural works, including bronze.
Both exhibits are open to the public and can be viewed during gallery hours, Monday through Thursday, from 1 to 5 p.m.
