HPU Student In Evening Degree Program Completes Mission Work In Ukraine

HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 9, 2009 ? Meredith Gordon, who is studying in management in the Evening Degree Program at High Point University, recently completed a business mission trip in Ukraine.

Gordon, who plans to graduate in May 2010, traveled to Ukraine with members of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.

“Each member of the team was responsible for leading a class lecture and discussion on human resource management to business entrepreneurs in Simferopol, Ukraine,” Gordon says. “In the afternoons we journeyed to their local businesses to visit, advise and grow relationships with them personally. ? Sharing mistakes and accomplishments with others, especially other business owners, is what we worked toward during our trip.”

Gordon says the culture and lifestyle in Ukraine is different than what is familiar to Americans, and Communism has affected the economy of the nation. However, she says there is a subtle and small movement of people looking for change.

“I am grateful to have had this life-changing trip,” Gordon says.
