HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 19, 2009 ? Several High Point University students were recently inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the international academic honor society for communication.
The students – 14 juniors and seniors – were welcomed into the society on Nov. 6 with a ceremony held in the library of the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication. Parents and friends of students, faculty and administrators attended the event.
The international honor society, created in 1985 and recognized by the Association of College Honor Societies in 1996, has 251 chapters worldwide. Lambda Pi Eta recognizes excellence in communication and confers distinction upon superior students who may join by invitation only.
“I have had the pleasure of working with all of these students,” says Dr. Judy Isaksen, associate professor of media and popular culture studies who serves as faculty adviser of Lambda Pi Eta. “Each one is uniquely special, so it thrills me that we can honor and recognize their dedication, intelligence and hard work.”
