High Point University alumnus James Price was recently honored as “Teacher of the Year” at Davis Townsend Elementary School in Davidson County.
Price, who currently teaches autistic children in grades 1-5, received his undergraduate degree in religion from HPU in 2004. He then went on to earn his teaching license in special education in 2005, and a Master?s Degree in special education with a concentration in mental disabilities from HPU in 2008.
?James is a compassionate and talented educator who has worked diligently to advance his knowledge of students with more severe disabilities,? says Dr. Mariann Tillery, dean of the School of Education. “We are proud that he has accomplished so much success in the early part of his teaching career.”
