HPU Students In The Village Donate To Those In Need

HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 8, 2009 ? Students who live in The Village residential complex at High Point University recently made an impressive commitment to help others in the community by organizing the “It Takes a Village” program.

The program, organized by Kayla Sale, The Village Hall Council president, along with Village resident directors and resident assistants, was created to collect food donations for those in need. In addition to donated food items, program organizers raised nearly $200, and they were able to help four local families.

“We went door-to-door requesting food donations for the program,” says Andrea Grant, resident director. “Students were also asked to make donations on designated donation days. ? We are talking about making this an annual event. The students’ commitment is impressive. They have big hearts and great ideas.”
