Snyder Joins HPU As Dean Of Students

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 24, 2011 ? Dr. Kevin C. Snyder has joined High Point University as dean of students in the Office of Student Life.

Snyder will be responsible for various aspects of student life, including monitoring judicial affairs, Greek life, the Student Government Association, and a variety of student leadership and multicultural programming.

?I am thrilled to be part of a dynamically growing institution that truly focuses on the best interests of students,? says Snyder. ?For me personally, the dean of students position couldn?t be a better fit, and I am excited about contributing further to the extraordinary education that HPU students receive.?

Snyder has authored two student leadership books and has conducted research on first-generation college students and factors that influence their retention and persistence.

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in marine biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, a Masters in educational leadership from the University of South Carolina and a Doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Central Florida.

Previous to joining HPU, he worked at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of Central Florida.
