HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 18, 2011 – High Point University students took the time to document what they are most thankful for this week through a poster campaign called The Gratitude Project, organized by junior Kayla Buechner.
The campaign allowed students to express gratitude for some abundant blessings in the spirit of Thanksgiving. Their responses ranged from “troops who are fighting oversees” during this holiday season to “teachers who care,” “family and friends” and “religious freedom.”
“I wanted to organize this project because we live in a country that provides us with so many opportunities – to get an education, develop a career, live a peaceful life and make a difference,” Buechner says. “It turned out to be a wonderful way for students to give thanks and offer gratitude for their many blessings.”
Beyond the project, gratitude is present in the student body throughout the entire year, she adds.
“We’ve been given so much, and the character of our students embodies Thanksgiving all year long.”
