HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 27, 2012 – Carol A. Davis, instructor of communication in the Nido R. Qubein School of Communication at High Point University, was recently selected as one of 16 fellows from across the country to attend a business journalism seminar at the Walter Cronkite School for Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
The fellowship is designed to provide professors with cutting-edge instructional materials to bring business journalism to the university campus.
“I really enjoy teaching at HPU because of the experiential component,” says Davis. “It really allows students to get the kind of preparation they need for the real world.”
Before teaching at HPU, Davis worked as a broadcast journalist at WGN-TV in Chicago, and is one of the nation’s first video bloggers. She reported from the floor of the Chicago Stock Exchange and also covered the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, NASDAQ, the NYSE and the American Stock Exchange.
