HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 17, 2012 – High Point University recently hired Jan (Jannifer) Hebert Knox as major gift officer for the Office of Institutional Advancement.
In her new position, Knox, originally from King, will work with philanthropic investors to expand upon and generate new educational programs and scholarships. As an HPU alumna, Knox says she is thrilled that her career path has led her back to the institution.
“HPU was an amazing place when I attended less than a decade ago. It has transformed into a phenomenal institution, creating the next generation of leaders,” she says. “I am proud to be back and to be a part of the team that will help raise funds to implement the university’s extraordinary vision of higher education.”
“The students at HPU are of the highest caliber,” says Knox. “They are extremely well-mannered, enthusiastic, motivated and engaged. I look forward to ?showing off’ the quality of students at HPU to prospects, donors and alumni.”
Knox has 10 years of professional experience including a variety of positions in the financial industry, mainly with Wachovia and as a major gift officer for Wake Forest Baptist Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.
A native of the Triad, Knox serves on the North Carolina Triad Affiliate for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Board of Directors where she chairs the Resource Development Committee. She also volunteers for several other nonprofit organizations in the area, including the American Cancer Society.
Knox earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and media studies from High Point University. She is currently working toward a Masters of Business Administration.
