HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 15, 2012 – High Point University will treat the community to the Department of Music’s annual Winter Choral Concert, to be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. The event is open to the public.
The concert, titled “Crown Jewels: Treasure from Great Britain,” will feature the University Singers, Chapel Choir, and Chamber Singers, performing Howell’s “Like As the Hart Desireth the Waterbrooks,” and various other pieces that have been performed at royal coronations, weddings and funerals over the centuries.
The singers will be accompanied by Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church’s Austin 60+ pipe organ.
The performance will be directed by Dr. Marc Foster, chair of the Department of Music and director of Choral Activities at HPU.
