Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority Participates in Hope Gala Fundraiser for JDRF

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 6, 2012 – The Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority at High Point University recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the 2012 Hope Gala – an event that raised $825,000 for the Piedmont Triad’s Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Held at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro, nearly 50 members of the sorority helped with a silent and live auction, and tended to guests during the black-tie event that honors children who have Type 1 diabetes.

Sorority members have volunteered their time and efforts to this event in recent years as well.

“As a sorority, we were excited to have the opportunity to participate in the event again this year,” says Lauren Ignozzi, president of Alpha Gamma Delta. “It was amazing to see the amount of people supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, which is our philanthropy. It was a great experience for all of the sisters who volunteered.”
