Lifland Promoted to Professor of Finance

HIGH POINT, N.C., March 30, 2012 – Dr. Steven Lifland has been promoted to professor of finance in the Phillips School of Business at High Point University.

Lifland, who has taught at HPU for 14 years, teaches various courses in financial management, investment analysis, real estate investment and financial analysis. Additionally, Lifland acts as one of the faculty advisers to the Floyd T. Craven Investment Club.

“I am honored by my promotion to professor of finance,” Lifland says. “I believe that a successful classroom experience happens where discussions are intellectually stimulating and students question the learned applications in a variety of settings. There is a saying that states: ‘The search for truth is more precious than its possession.’ The academic research and learning process can have it no other way.”

During his time at HPU, Lifland has published his work in the “Journal of Managerial Finance,” “Journal of the Academy of Business and Economics,” “Advances in Business Research,” “Journal of Accounting and Finance” and the “Tobin Review of Business.”
