HIGH POINT, N.C., April 13, 2012 – Andrea Wheless, professor of art at High Point University, was recently accepted into the nationally juried Sacred Art Exhibition in Galesburg, Ill., which features artwork that included all media that deals with spiritual and sacred subject matter.
Wheless entered a colored pencil Mandala, a sacred circle that in many religions represents wholeness.
“I am very excited to have been accepted into this exhibition,” says Wheless. “Being a National Call for Artists, it feels special.”
Wheless says being featured in art exhibitions sets a great example for her students, as she says it’s important for students to know that professors and students alike are active exhibiting artists.
In addition to the Sacred Art Exhibition, Wheless will also be featured in the invitational exhibition in the North Carolina Pottery Center in Seagrove.
