HPU Welcomes Spiegel to IT Team

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 11, 2012 – The Office of Internet Technology at High Point University recently hired Alan Spiegel as projects and development manager in IT.

In his new position, Spiegel is responsible for planning, executing and closing project plans, as well as managing custom Web application programming and development. He will also be managing updates, changes and problem resolution of HPU’s websites.

“I am finding my work as project manager exciting and challenging,” says Spiegel. “The IT team and everyone at HPU have been very helpful and welcoming.”

Spiegel holds several years of IT experience that includes a highly successful global implementation for one of the world’s largest insurance companies, and also has developed effective IT business plans for start-up companies.

In addition to his work in IT, Spiegel has served on boards for several nonprofit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Brenner Children’s Hospital, the Humane Society, and is currently serving as vice president of information for the local PMI (Project Management Institute) chapter board.

Spiegel, a longtime resident of North Carolina, originally from Miami, has a Bachelor of Science in business management and a Bachelor of Science in computer science.
