HIGH POINT, N.C., April 27, 2012 – Ali Lundberg, a junior majoring in human relations with a minor in sociology at High Point University, is gaining eye-opening career experiences as a Youth Focus intern at the Transitional Living Program in High Point.

The Youth Focus Transitional Living Program was established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It provides long-term residential services and for homeless young females and helps them for transition into self-sufficient living.

“The importance of this program is vital in helping young women live healthy lives,” says Lundberg. “All in all, my internship has helped me gain a better perspective of myself, my studies at HPU and my professional goals.”

Lundberg, who is from Darien, Conn., is responsible for conducting weekly life-skill discussions with the girls in the program, serves as a mentor and role model.

“My studies at High Point University have been impacted by interning at Transitional Living Program because I am able to apply what I have learned in my human relations and general education classes,” says Lundberg.

After completing her studies at HPU, Lundberg plans to continue her education in graduate school.
