Junior Serves as Youth Intern at Local Church

HIGH POINT, N.C., April 9, 2012 – Leeann Mangum, a junior at High Point University double majoring in English writing and religion, has gained relevant career experience as a youth intern at a local church.

Mangum has spent the year serving as the Family Ministry Team Intern at Church of The Redeemer in Greensboro. In her position, Mangum works with children, youth, and their families in the church. She says she hopes to gain real-world experience for working with a church in the future.

“As a religion major, this internship has allowed me to put my faith into practice,” says Mangum. “I am hoping to one day work with either a church or other church-type ministry and this gives me an understanding of the inner workings of a ministry, specifically a church.”

Mangum also utilizes her internship as hands-on experience and knowledge for her senior seminar, an in-depth research paper and presentation required by HPU seniors for graduation.
