HIGH POINT, N.C., May 4, 2012 – Students in the Biology Club at High Point University recently enhanced their knowledge about biological and scientific interests outside of the traditional classroom setting with a recent trip to Washington, D.C.
As part of the trip, members of the biology club and three faculty advisers visited the Smithsonian National Zoological Park and various museums. The advisers for the trip were Dr. Kelli Sapp, Dr. Nicole Hughes and Donna Dennis.
“These annual trips are wonderful learning opportunities for students and are also a great way for the biology community to come together and get to know one another,” says Elizabeth Franklin, vice president of the club. “We really enjoyed reflecting back on our biology classes while exploring the city.”
In the past, the biology club has visited Atlanta, Charleston, S.C. and Kitty Hawk, N.C.
