HIGH POINT, N.C., July 2, 2012 – High Point University and Cornerstone Health Care Foundation hope to help those involved in public and private school sports by sponsoring the Third Annual Free Sports Medicine Seminar. The all-day event will be held on July 24 at Phillips Hall on the HPU campus.
The seminar is open to Triad area K-12 public and private school coaches, athletic trainers, school nurses, athletic directors, volunteer coaches and others who can benefit from up-to-date information on sports illnesses and injuries. The event will include presentations by faculty and staff from the university’s School of Health Sciences and Department of Athletics, as well as Cornerstone physicians.
“We are committed to producing this free seminar on an annual basis with our colleagues at Cornerstone in order to give back to the community that we love, live in and work in,” says Dr. Eric Hegedus, professor and founding chair of the Department of Physical Therapy in the School of Health Sciences at HPU. “We continually strive to spread HPU’s dedication to an extraordinary education outside of the campus walls and hope that healthcare professionals will look for our upcoming lecture series. This campus really provides the ideal environment for education.”
All seminar expenses, including tuition, meals and materials, are underwritten by the High Point University and Cornerstone Health Care Foundation upon registration. For more information, contact [email protected].
