HIGH POINT, N.C., August 10, 2012 – Tiffany Francois, a rising senior at High Point University, is spending her summer contributing to the wellbeing of others at the Substance Abuse Treatment Center at the University of Vermont.
At her internship, Francois, who is majoring in psychology and sociology, interviews clients in order to obtain data for the clinic and assists clients with community resources and outreach programs.
Francois aspires to continue her education in social work or clinical psychology in graduate school after her time at HPU and at the internship.
“I have completed a statistics for psychology class at HPU, along with two research methods classes that have taught me the basics of research in the social sciences and in the field of psychology,” said Francois. “My understanding I gained from High Point has allowed me to be knowledgeable about ethical guidelines I encounter every day in my field.”
