HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 7, 2012 – Colleen Kelley, a rising senior majoring in home furnishings with a minor in interior design at High Point University, is creating a bright future through a design and style internship at HGTV Magazine in New York City.
As part of her internship, Kelley’s responsibilities include conducting market and trend research, coordinating monthly features, pitching ideas for product-driven stories and creating design boards for feature stories.
Kelley says that her experiences in the classroom at HPU have allowed her to make an easy transition into this professional side of design.
“HPU has prepared me for my internship with HGTV Magazine,” says Kelley. “My courses have helped me grow and prepare as a design professional in the interior design and home furnishings industries.”
