HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 14, 2012 – The High Point University Department of Music will entertain university and community members with the sounds of several musical ensembles as part of the annual Chamber Ensembles Concert. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 25 in the sanctuary of Hayworth Chapel, and is open to the public; no tickets are required.The concert – which marks the first instrumental concert of the season – will feature the HPU Brass Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, the Woodwind Chamber Ensemble and the Chamber Orchestra. The program is set to include a lively selection of a variety of musical styles that will utilize the talents of both students and faculty.
“The HPU Department of Music is proud to kick off the 2012-2013 academic year with an instrumental concert featuring students and faculty who comprise our smaller chamber ensembles,” says Dr. Danny Frye, director of instrumental studies at HPU. “This concert offers a variety of musical textures that are sure to offer something for everyone.”
