HIGH POINT, N.C., Aug. 28, 2013 – Dr. David Pitonzo was recently hired as the director of didactic education and associate professor of physician assistant studies in the School of Health Sciences at High Point University.
Pitonzo will teach students in the proposed physician assistant studies program clinically relevant sciences, and will help them develop critical thinking skills necessary to be successful in medical practice. He is currently helping to develop the proposed physician assistant studies program along with Dr. Linda Sekhon, chair of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
“I am very excited to help develop a new PA curriculum focused around a student-centered, active learning model,” says Pitonzo.
Pitonzo has a Ph.D. from Oregon Health and Sciences University’s School of Medicine and 30 years of experience as a clinical physician assistant.
