

HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 30, 2013 – High Point University welcomed 5,000 visitors this past weekend for the annual “Family Weekend.” The weekend brings an economic boost to the city of High Point and the greater Triad area every year. The High Point Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates an economic impact of $1,884,510 with a total of 1,200 room nights.
During the weekend, students’ families enjoyed academic panels, entertainment, festivities and the groundbreaking of the Center for Student Success.
During the 2012-13 school year, HPU welcomed more than 80,000 visitors to campus through its numerous activities, including admissions, athletic, cultural, family and community events, Alumni and Family Weekends and more.
