Community Christmas 1 Community Christmas 3 Community Christmas 4HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 3, 2013 – High Point University will share the spirit of the season by welcoming friends, neighbors and community members of the Piedmont Triad to campus for two nights of holiday celebration from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 18-19. The event is free and open to the public.

The entire campus is trimmed with holiday decorations, and guests are invited to stroll through the lights on the Kester International Promenade while enjoying:

• Live carols sung by community choirs
• Carriage rides
• Santa will be on-hand to visit with children and present them with a special gift
• Hot chocolate
• Christmas cookies

“We always look forward to sharing the Christmas season with our neighbors and friends at our annual event,” says Dr. Don Scarborough, vice president for community relations. “Last year, we had more than 3,000 guests. It’s a wonderful time for us all to come together and enjoy the spirit of the holidays with caroling and greetings from Santa; there is something for everyone.”

Several area choirs and bands will be performing at the two-day celebration. They include: Welborn Middle School Choir, performer Patricia Covington, Joyful Sounds of Christ United Methodist Church, High Point Central High School Singers, a group from Penn Griffin School of the Arts and many more.

In the event of rain, Community Christmas will be held inside the Wanek Center on campus.

This is one of several holiday events HPU is offering the community. For a complete list, visit highpoint.edu/community.
