HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 7, 2014 – The High Point University Department of Music will entertain university and community members with its Spring Chamber Ensemble Concert, “Kaleidoscope,” as part of the university’s Cultural Enrichment Series. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. The event is open to the public; no tickets are required.
This year’s performance marks the second of its kind at HPU and will feature a variety of instrumental ensembles stationed throughout the Pauline Theatre performing fast-paced numbers. The music performed will cover a broad spectrum of musical styles.
“After the success of last year’s ‘Kaleidoscope’ concert, we are excited to again share this unique event with the community,” says Danny Frye, director of instrumental studies. “Concert goers are certain to hear something they will remember, and the fun will not stop until the final note.”
Groups featured will include HPU’s brass ensemble, flute ensemble, percussion ensemble, jazz ensemble as well as smaller chamber groups and soloists.
