HIGH POINT, N.C., Sept. 18, 2014 – High Point University welcomes Patrick Vigueira to the faculty as visiting assistant professor of biology.

Vigueira, who is an expert in microbiology, molecular parasitology and nutrition, will teach biology courses and lead undergraduates in independent research.

“I am excited to join an institution that provides me the opportunity to focus on undergraduate education,” Vigueira says. “My courses will provide students the opportunity to explore science in a challenging and dynamic environment. I will help students establish a growth mindset that encourages an expansion of their educational horizons.”

Vigueira is one of 35 new faculty members joining HPU this fall as well as one of 21 faculty members who are being added to new positions created in response to the university’s growth.
