HIGH POINT, N.C., Oct. 29, 2014 – High Point University recently hired Angi Kinsey for the position of freshman success coach.
As a freshman success coach, Kinsey will support new students in their transition to life on campus. Specifically, Kinsey will be working with students majoring in journalism, criminal justice and education.
Drawing on her experience working with student services, Kinsey hopes that by making herself as approachable and available as possible, she becomes a trusted source of support for all students. Additionally, Kinsey’s familiarity with mentoring programs, as well as peer and faculty advising programs, will allow her to help first-year students transition smoothly through one of the most important and exciting times in their lives.
“I believe that providing both academic and personal support to students is crucial to their success,” says Kinsey. “I am thrilled to be a part of High Point University where students have so many types of support services available to them.”
Kinsey holds a Bachelor of Science in communications as well as a Master of Art in higher education from Appalachian State University.
