HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 17, 2014 – Hundreds of High Point University students, faculty and staff were treated to free, customizable mac and cheese bowls, straight from a Stouffer’s food truck on Monday.

The Stouffer’s Food Truck visited campus during a year-long tour around the country. Marin Seifert, a 2013 alumna of HPU and account coordinator at the global public relations firm Ketchum, organized the visit. At Ketchum, Seifert works in the brand practice through several global consumer packaged goods brands, including Nestlé, the creators of the Stouffer’s brand.

Patrons of the food truck could choose from a plain bowl of warm mac and cheese, or top it off with bacon, turkey and stuffing or roasted vegetables.

HPU student Lauren Marie Borst enjoyed her mac and cheese without anything extra, while fellow student Martha Stride topped hers off with bacon pieces.

“This food truck is so cool,” said Borst. “My mom usually has a hard time making mac and cheese from scratch, so Stouffer’s is always our go-to brand at home.”

“I’ve never had mac and cheese with bacon before,” said Stride. “I’m definitely going to have to start mixing them together from here on out!”

“We’ve had about 450 people come through in the past two hours,” said Sandy Matachik, one of the two Stouffer’s employees manning the food truck. “The students here at HPU are very polite and friendly. It’s been a great time so far despite the rain!”
