HPU Invites Community to Annual ‘Lessons and Carols’ Candlelight Service

The service will be broadcast live to the Chapel fellowship hall to accommodate overflow attendance and online at www.highpoint.edu/live.

HIGH POINT, N.C., Nov. 26, 2014 – High Point University will celebrate the holiday season with its annual “Lessons and Carols” Candlelight Service at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 10 in the Hayworth Chapel. The public is invited to attend the event; no tickets are required.

The special service, based on the traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols at King’s College in Cambridge, England, will feature members of the university community, including the Chapel Choir and the Flute Ensemble. The Board of Stewards and Alpha Delta Theta sorority will serve as ushers and greeters.

Following the candlelight service, those attending are invited to walk directly outside the chapel to the Chapel Garden Christmas tree, where cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

Visitors are encouraged to enter campus through the welcome center at the intersection of Montlieu Avenue and Centennial Street. Parking will be available for community members behind the Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
