Fraternity Raises $23,000 for Cancer Research

Pi Kappa Alpha 2HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 1, 2014 – Pi Kappa Alpha, a fraternity on High Point University’s campus, raised more than $23,000 during its Jimmy V. Week.

The fraternity’s most successful event was its 10th Annual Garnet and Gold Classic held on Nov. 15. Other events included PIKE date auction, PIKE fair and a percentage night at Blue Rock Pizza and Tap.

“We were very fortunate to have the High Point University community rally around us so we could put on such a successful event,” said Andrew Hughes, golf tournament chair. “Everyone has been touched by the devastating effects of cancer. We wanted to do something about it. In the last three years we have raised and donated over $60,000.”
