HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 26, 2015 – Lt. Clebe McClary is living proof that with the right attitude, all things are possible.
The Vietnam War veteran will share his motivational story at High Point University at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 in the Pauline Theatre of the Hayworth Fine Arts Center. A limited number of complimentary tickets are available for the general public by contacting 336-841-9209 or [email protected].
On March 3, 1968, during his 19th reconnaissance mission in Vietnam, McClary was critically wounded by an enemy attack. As a result of his bravery under fire and the concern he demonstrated for his men, McClary was presented the Silver Star and the Bronze Star by the President of the United States. He also was awarded three Purple Hearts.
Although McClary suffered the loss of an eye, an arm and was told he would never walk again, he never lost the determination, dedication and courage to overcome his circumstances.
Visitors are encouraged to enter campus through the welcome center at the intersection of North College and Montlieu Avenue. Parking will be available for community members behind Hayworth Fine Arts Center.
