HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 20, 2015 – High Point University will hold a routine test for its sirens and emergency notification system at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 21. The university performs a full test at the beginning of each semester as a part of its emergency preparedness program.
During the test, a text message, email and phone call is sent to all members of campus in addition to broadcasts across campus phones, computers and electronic message boards. Students, faculty and staff are automatically enrolled in the system at the beginning of each year.
“High Point University is committed to keeping our students, faculty, staff and community safe,” says Jeff Karpovich, CPP, CHPA chief of security and transportation at HPU. “Regular testing allows us to maintain a safe environment for everyone.”
