HIGH POINT, N.C., Dec. 29, 2014 – High Point University recently hired Gene Bunting as manager of contracts and procurement in the accounting services office.
In his position, Bunting will oversee the development and renewal of contracts for products and services that enhance the student experience. His expertise is in production planning, purchasing and contracting, as well as cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
“I am very excited to join High Point University and contribute to the extraordinary experience of helping prepare young people for successful lives,” says Bunting. “My main goal will be in facilitating the prompt procurement of goods and services so the university can operate efficiently and provide the best possible student experience.”
Before coming to HPU, Bunting spent several years as an industrial engineer and supply chain manager in the textile industry. Most recently he worked in health care purchasing with High Point Regional Health. Bunting earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
