HIGH POINT, N.C., Feb. 3, 2015 – High Point University recently hired Mary Guthrie as the new administrative assistant in the Office of Academic Development.
In this position, Guthrie will support the tutoring, disability support, learning excellence and academic advising departments.
Guthrie is excited to take on her new position at HPU, working with departments that make a direct impact on the academic success of students.
“Something I love about HPU is we talk the talk and walk the walk – HPU does what it says it will do and does it exceptionally,” says Guthrie. “I look forward to interacting with students in a manner that will continue to provide educational support in a personable way.”
Previously, Guthrie worked as the program director at a retirement community in Birmingham. She also worked at HPU as a captionist in disability support.
Guthrie graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She also spent a semester abroad at the National University of Ireland, Galway.
