HIGH POINT, N.C., March 18, 2015 – The High Point University Chamber Singers spent their spring break on a choir tour singing for audiences across the South. Dr. Marc Foster, chair of the Department of Music and director of Choral Activities, and 40 Chamber Singers members traveled around North Carolina, Georgia and Florida performing for high schools and churches.
“The students really enjoyed the trip this spring break,” says Foster. “We have been able to perform for people who know and love great choral music. Throughout the entire trip we shared our love of singing across age, demographic and education lines.”
Foster has coordinated these trips for the past three years to share the quality of the HPU music department and gain new generations of HPU singers. During these spring break trips Chamber Singers has performed in places such as New Orleans and Dallas, Texas.
“I am so grateful that the university allows us to go out and be ambassadors for the music department across the country,” says Callie Klinkmueller, HPU Chamber Singer member. “It is a truly amazing experience from staying with host families to meeting new people from the areas in which we sing.”
